We are the Northern Illinois University Vision Program! 

This website is your one-stop-shop for innovative research and resources created by our graduate students studying to work with individuals who are blind or visually impaired. NIU prepares future Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialists (COMS), Certified Vision Rehabilitation Therapists (CVRT), Certified Assistive Technology Instructional Specialists (CATIS), and Teachers of Students with Visual Impairments (TSVI/TVI).

Public Comment Period Announcement:

AER Accreditation Council announces a 30-day public comment period for comments regarding the accreditation review of NIU’s O&M and VRT programs.  Comment period will close at 11:59 p.m. Eastern on September 10, 2024. Send questions or comments to: accreditationinfo@aerbvi.org. All comments will be kept in strictest confidence.
