Welcome to Project J.E.D.I. (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) where our mission is to prepare diverse learners to work with diverse children with visual impairments!
This is a predominantly on-campus program. Students progress through the program in cohorts, with each cohort beginning in the fall of each academic year. The generous financial assistance is awarded on a first come, first served basis to qualified applicants. Be sure to notify Stacy Kelly (skelly@niu.edu) of your intent to apply to ensure that your name is included in the pool of candidates!
Project J.E.D.I. pays all in-state or out-of-state tuition, all fees, and health insurance.
Project J.E.D.I. scholars receive a stipend of $9,500 per calendar year.

To be considered for grant funding through Project J.E.D.I., students will need to complete the following steps:
Apply and be accepted to the Northern Illinois University graduate school as a Special Education - Visual Disabilities (M.S.Ed) major.
Complete the Learning to Teach for Social Justice Belief Scale.

Once you have completed steps 1-4, you will be contacted to schedule an interview with members of the Project J.E.D.I. grant.
